Meet Dr. Bamba
Expertly Trained
Dr. Bamba was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then traveled up the Mississippi River to college at Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated with honors in Biology. Afterwards, he matriculated at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, one of the nation’s top medical schools. He then completed a full general surgery residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and a research fellowship in peripheral nerve surgery at Vanderbilt University. After becoming a board-certified general surgeon, he completed a plastic surgery residency at Indiana University and a fellowship in breast and microsurgery at the University of Chicago. Dr. Bamba is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Indiana University.
Cutting Edge
Dr. Bamba has published over 40 peer reviewed articles in national journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery. Additionally, he has been invited to speak at many national conferences such as Plastic Surgery: The Meeting, The Aesthetic Meeting, American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress, and the American Society of Peripheral Nerve. Dr. Bamba is a candidate member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and an associate for the Aesthetic Society.
Behind the Surgeon’s Mask
Dr. Bamba spends his free time with his wife Gautami and their dog Oscar. They can be found hiking at state parks around Indianapolis on weekends or checking out new restaurants in the city.
